The HLC Homestead was built from more than just a business idea — it was built from a lifelong connection to country life.

From a young age, I was drawn to it all — horses, utes, wide open spaces. I’d ride my bike pretending I was towing a horse float full of horses around my grandparents, dreaming of a life that felt like home long before I ever lived it.

As I got older, I turned that dream into reality and bought my first two horses. But life had other plans. After losing one in a tragic accident and moving the other on when I fell pregnant, that chapter came to a close — and with it, a part of me I wasn’t ready to let go of.

Motherhood shifted everything. My son was born with disabilities and needed my full attention, and for years, I put that piece of myself — the country life I loved — on hold.

Then came a turning point.

During COVID, I walked away from a toxic workplace. My son was growing more independent, and for the first time in a long time, I found myself asking a simple question:

What’s missing?

The answer was clear — I needed to return to where I felt most like myself.

So I combined two things that had always been part of who I am:

And from that, The HLC Homestead was born.
